Middle School Academics
The middle school concept is designed in a way that allows students to adopt and become acclimated to middle school while being prepared for the rigors of high school. Our faculty and staff are very aware of the unique needs and struggles of middle school students. They understand the tremendous changes that take place developmentally, emotionally, academically, and socially in our middle school students and are positioned to be of great assistance.
In the middle school, students begin to think in abstract concepts instead of purely concrete concepts. North Georgia Christian School strongly believes in the concept of critical thinking and begins to expose students to these skills in the 6th grade. We based our critical thinking program on Bloom's Taxonomy of Thinking Skills. Our desire is for our graduates to be critical thinkers and independent learners.
Our middle school classes typically average between 16 -20 students per class. The smaller class size allows teachers opportunities to give attention and individual guidance to meet the needs of all students. Our students are self-motivated and understanding of the gift of Christian education and therefore discipline problems are rare.
