History of North Georgia Christian School
North Georgia Christian School began in 1984 under the name Westminster Christian School as a ministry of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Fifty-eight students were enrolled the first year in kindergarten through sixth grade with four full time teachers and an administrator. The church and school at that time were located on Academy Street in the heart of Gainesville. By the time the school moved to its current location in 1998 the school had a elementary and middle school program and 18 faculty members. In 2002 the high school began with fifteen freshmen, and as of May of 2008 the school has had three graduating classes. On July 1, 2008, the school became independent of the church and changed its name to North Georgia Christian School.
